Difficulty Uploading our Video
We actually had some difficulty when we uploaded our video to YouTube. We uploaded on the 17th of January only to find that the sound coming from the video was very crackly and not suitable. We made the decision to take the video down and try to figure out what the issue was. After this I decided to try turning down the sound of the actual song in Final Cut. I then uploaded once again (which was today, 18th) and found that the audio was much better. This completed our music video.
Our A Level Media Music Video
Here is our A Level Media Coursework Music Video. Using the song Way Down We Go by the band Kaleo from the Indie Rock genre. Our inspiration and message behind our video is Mental Health and the effects it issues can have on people and their minds.

CD Cover Ideas and Moodboards
I begun brainstorming ideas by researching and creating a mood board of other CD Covers that Indie Rock Artists have used for their albums. I found that there were a few themes that a lot of artists use when designing their cover. These themes would be such things as; bright colours, illustrations, group shots of the whole band, overlap of different images. These have given me some different ideas for my own cover.

Analysis of Digipak - The Script

The Script are an Irish rock band formed in 2001. It consists of lead vocalist and keyboardist Danny O'Donoghue, lead guitarist Mark Sheehan, and drummer Glen Power. The type of music and genre of music they produce is mostly pop rock and soft rock. However there music and style contains characteristics of indie rock as a lot of different rock styles contain similarities that tie them all together. Here is one of their Digipack's for their album Science and Faith. It is clear that they have related the design of the pack to the name and theme of the actual album. The CD has a design of an atom on it, making the hole in the middle of the CD the centre of the atom. This relates to one of the parts the album is named after. In my opinion the front cover relates to the other part, which is Faith. The hands holding and being placed on one another (like a mirror) in both images represent Faith. This is because when it comes to Faith, we as humans find it in ourselves or other people; the image on the front cover is faith in others and the image of the back is faith in ourselves. That is why I believe they used this imagery for their album. In addition, this design and theme link to their genre because it is different to what any other genre; they include "varying musical approaches compatible with mainstream tastes". Moreover, with all of their albums they use then same font and style for the bands name on the front and inside the album. What the artist is trying to do is brand their work and make their products and band more recognisable; they can create more meaning behind their work. The list of songs on the back are very small because they want the imagery to be the main focus in order for the powerful message about 'Science and Faith' to be obvious (as it is the name of the album).
With the more recent albums The Script have released there has a theme of bright colours against a darker background; contrasting the brighter aspects that the artists want the audience to notice. Moreover, with all The Scripts album covers, there is always a deeper meaning behind them, however each can be different. With the Freedom Child album cover the very bright wings that look like they have almost been drawn on or light rays on the persons back represent freedom (as if they could fly away). Where as No Sound Without Silence has a more sensual meaning and emotion behind it, making the audience feel different emotions and feelings after listening to each album. I believe The Script aim to speak out about different issues or experiences that a lot of their audience may go through, by using their albums and their music. This is an important and amazing aspect to have in a popular artist as it effects all the people that listen to their music.

Logo Idea
This is the Logo design I created inspired by Indie Rock, for our song choice 'Way Down We Go' by the band Kaleo. My inspiration for this logo was the idea of a band, as bands are very popular in the Indie Rock genre. Bands always have instruments being played live so I decided to use a collection of different instruments surrounding the name of my company. Emphasising the theme of bands. These instruments included the Violin, Guitar, Drums, Trombone, French horn. These instruments may not be may not be specific to what our types of bands use but they are stereotypically what you think of when you think of band instruments. The idea and representation of a band is important for our particular project as our chosen artist is a band. The name I chose for the company supports this. 'Band Sound' is meant to represent the music that the bands and artists produce, it emphasises the idea that out company mainly produces music from bands.
